Blessing of the Animals Planned at St. George’s Episcopal Church
Attention owners and companions of much-loved pets! The Rev. Chris Rose will be blessing all animals who are brought to St. George’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Social distancing will be observed during the Blessing. The annual Blessing of the Animals will take place outside the church in the parking lot at 1150 Boston Turnpike, Bolton, CT. In addition to the traditional types of pets (dogs, cats, gerbils, fish, turtles, birds, etc.), the more exotic type pets will be blessed. All animals are welcome and must be either on a leash or in a cage. Stuffed animals and photos of pets will be blessed, too! A free-will donation will be taken to benefit Our Companions Animal Rescue. Animals play such an important part in our lives. We must always be aware of treating them in a humane way, encourage children to be kind to them, consider adopting from an animal shelter, and speak out against animal abuse. This free event is open to everyone who would like to join in this joyous celebration of God’s creatures.
